Peter Bakker is the President of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development. Mr. Bakker is a distinguished business leader who, until June 2011, was the CEO of TNT NV, the Netherlands-based holding company of TNT Express and Royal TNT Post. Under his leadership TNT rose to the forefront of Corporate Responsibility via a ground-breaking partnership with the UN World Food Program and ambitious CO2 reduction targets from its Planet Me initiative, holding multiple-year top-ranking positions in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index.

Mr. Bakker is the recipient of Clinton Global Citizen Award (2009); SAM Sustainability Leadership Award (2010); and has been an Ambassador Against Hunger for the UN World Food Programme since 2011. In addition he is the Chairman of War Child Netherlands.

Chief Operating Officer

Peter White is Chief Operating Officer at the WBCSD. In this role he is responsible for all WBCSD work programs, Global Policy Affairs and the Global Network.

Peter has been with WBCSD since 2013, and joined after 22 years developing the sustainability program at Procter & Gamble, the world’s largest consumer goods company. From 2006 – 2013 Peter was P&G’s Director for Global Sustainability, creator and Chair of the Sustainability Leadership Council and a key architect of the company’s long term sustainability vision and 2020 goals.  During that time, he was the WBCSD Liaison Delegate for P&G, having been involved in the work of WBCSD since 1997.

Peter is also a Visiting Professor at the Newcastle University Institute for Sustainability. Prior to joining P&G, he held teaching and research positions at the Universities of Oxford, California (Berkeley) and Arizona, and taught in Nigeria with the UK development charity Voluntary Service Overseas.

A biologist at heart and by training, Peter holds a doctorate in Chemical Ecology from Oxford University, and Masters degrees in Zoology (Oxford) and Applied Hydrobiology (London).

Greg Davies

Chief Financial Officer

Greg Davies joined the WBCSD in June 2010 as a member of the executive management, with overall responsibility for finance, human resources, information technology and administration.

Before joining the WBCSD, Greg spent eight years at US multi-national corporation Alcoa Inc. and prior to that seven years at the international trade association IATA, where he held senior finance, human resources and administration positions at local and international levels.

A British citizen who speaks French fluently, Greg has lived and worked in Switzerland since 1994 and prior to that, in France and the UK.

Greg is a Chartered Certified Accountant and holds a business degree from the University of Manchester.
