Climate change is accepted as one of the greatest challenges facing mankind, and action is required now to build resilience in the face of its effects. For businesses this means the ability to prepare and recover from the costs of climate risks and impacts (not only episodic weather events, but also long-term climate effects), with minimum damage to social well-being, the economy and environment, as well as pursuing new opportunities. The CEO and the C-suite executives have a significant role to play in building resilience to climate change by making their business models future-fit and considering the physical environment in which they will be operating in the years to come. The report proposes a simple and actionable 3-step process and a conceptual framework to build climate change-resilient business strategy.
