O trabalho do SCF se concentra em 61 munic\u00edpios<\/strong> no bioma Cerrado que foram respons\u00e1veis por 25,9%\u00a0de toda a soja plantada no local no ano-safra 2021\/2022<\/a>. Desde o ano-safra 2020\/21, a \u00e1rea total de soja nos nossos 61 munic\u00edpios-foco aumentou 5,7%<\/strong> no Cerrado. Isso se compara a um aumento de 7,4% na \u00e1rea de soja no mesmo per\u00edodo do ano anterior. A taxa comparativamente baixa de expans\u00e3o da soja em nossos munic\u00edpios-foco em compara\u00e7\u00e3o com o Cerrado indica que eles n\u00e3o s\u00e3o os principais contribuintes para a expans\u00e3o total da soja.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ainda assim, a convers\u00e3o direta de vegeta\u00e7\u00e3o nativa para cultivo de soja se intensificou nos munic\u00edpios-foco durante o ano-safra 2021\/22, passando de 18.023 hectares em 2020 para 32.257 hectares em 2021. Essa convers\u00e3o direta de vegeta\u00e7\u00e3o nativa para cultivo de soja, em oposi\u00e7\u00e3o ao total de solos convertidos de qualquer prop\u00f3sito para a produ\u00e7\u00e3o de soja, apresenta a maior amea\u00e7a \u00e0 perda insubstitu\u00edvel de biodiversidade e ecossistemas<\/strong>. Nosso trabalho colaborativo busca abordar e evitar essas perdas por meio da prote\u00e7\u00e3o da vegeta\u00e7\u00e3o nativa e da promo\u00e7\u00e3o do cultivo sustent\u00e1vel de soja<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n
